Well done Rick , congrats on the new ride............

So I believe Mick G. is running the buggy , I will have to create a new rock crawling stage , hmmmmm. Come on all you Buggy drivers lets see if we can get a few more into class C for some real action. We drove in the new Class C winch stage for Sun. It will be down-hill for Sat and Sat nite. There are 4 stages run three times , Sat , Sat Nite and Sun (Harder in reverse)

I am working on compiling the scores for the series and will post it up sometime this week.

Nominations are now open so please ring and book your spot.

Remember All vehicles must be registered and have on them a copy of the relavant CTP extension for the event on the correct dates. (exemptions for class C by arrangement only)

Also there have been some small changes by myself. Entry to the park will Via the centre road and straight up to the cattle grid at the top of the hill overlooking the Comp Area. The stages will be marked out with bunting , arrows and class direction course signs. I have been told that Eagle Boys will be bring a portable Pizza oven and making Pizzas on site (although I cant promise this) I am asking a local lunch truck girl to be here sat and sun lunch time and if anyone wants to do a Sun breaky to raise money for their club coffers please give me a call.

VOLUNTEERS. I need some volunteer teams for spectator control and Stage management. NOTE contrary to what has been said in the past NONE of my volunteers have ever and will ever be charged entry to the park for events when helping out. All my staff are volunteers , mostly locals and all 4wders in their own right. (not ferrals as someone described them at the last event) Some depending on what they do for me are LIFE MEMBERS of the park. If you would like to volunteer for this event and get to spectate up close please call me as soon as possible. you will need to come for a 1/2 day orrientation and be available from 7am Sat 6th to 5pm Sun the 7th of October. Thanks in advance.

Ok thats all for now , Keep the nominations rolling in and any questions please call me on 0424568886.

Cheers

Hey everyone please take NOTICE !!!!!!!!!

I currently have 5 volunteers , I need a minimum of 15. THE EVENT WILL BE CANCELLED UNLESS WE HAVE ENOUGH VOLUNTEERS BY THIS FRIDAY (28th Sept). Contary to what was said after the last event , officials are NOT charged entry and are asked to attend a half day for orientation this weekend coming free of charge , giving the rest of that day in the park for them to enjoy a drive. Most of my core officials that give up their time to help out are life members of the park , that is , its free for them , forever , but remember they have helped the park , ALOT. (and its appreciated)

I also only have 5 confirmed nominations so I guess not that many want to come and have a good fun weekend of competition driving.

Please , if you want to come and enjoy the event then get on the phone and let me know , either offer to help , nominate or book in to spectate. There is a lot for me to organise , food , drinks , Sponsors , prizes , Trophes , tracks , bunting , officials , programs........ Personally I would rather go to the beach if the event doesn't go ahead rather than waste my time and have it all fall to pieces.

UPDATE:

We have 9 confirmed nominations , and 12 officials , nearly there. We need one more team of three officials and a few for spectator control , Please..............

OK scores for the series to date

CLASS A

Col Went 745 points
Michelle Hutchinson 2580 points
Taresa Bradshaw 3630 points

CLASS B (lites)

Dan Martin 3155 points

CLASS B

Darren Bradshaw 550 points
Steve Dixon 915 points
Alan Smith 1760 points
Dean Genn 2245 points

CLASS C

Ben Van Gestal 1015 points

Looks like Class C and B(lites) are sorted. Series entries were to be in by the last round , but due to the lack of competition I will accept series entry and payment up until 9am on Sat 6th of Oct (event weekend RND 3) If you have competed in at least one other round then you may have a chance at taking the $$ prize pool or at least a trophee and certificate. To be eligable you have to be nominated , payed up and complete the rounds in question or take maximum points for that round. Copies of results and placings from the previous rounds are available on request. Unfortunately I only have them in paper form. So either pick them up or I guess I can post them out on request. Cheers.

Ok , Please get your nominations in as soon as possible so I can cater for numbers. Thanks.

Ok , I have made an executive decision. The event will be run as there is no other option and I have commitments to sponsors and compeditors as its the last round of the series. There are great prizes and money on offer and it looks like some of it will go begging at this rate.

I have just been informed that I have lost 8 key officials for Sunday , but have enough for Sat. I will be running the event like a nite run or rockcrawling and other similar events , stage by stage , as we will use the same officials on each stage. If we have enough we will run two stages at one time , but we wont be running all 4 at a time as in last rounds.

CAN ALL DRIVERS / ENTRANTS / TEAMS WHO ARE INTENDING TO COMPETE OR WHO HAVE ALREADY NOMINATED PLEASE RING ME ON 0424568886 TO CONFIRM SOME CHANGES TO TIMES AND CAMPING ARANGEMENTS.

Competition will start at 10am now on Sat and will go until all cars have completed 4 stages twice , hopefully finished by 10pm. There should be a break for a meal mid to late afternoon. EAGLE BOYS pizza will be selling on site and I will try to have a lunch truck for a couple of hours Sat and Sun around midday. Drinks will be on sale at the office. (water / soft-drink / pop-ups) Competition will start at 9am Sun and presentation will happen after all remaining vehicles complete all 4 stages once. The rest of the park will be unaffected and normal driving is allowed.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO BOOK IF YOU ARE COMING TO SPECTARE , ESPECIALLY IF YOU INTEND TO CAMP. Thank-you.

Sorry guys , was stuffed yesterday evening and just walked back in , I have been in the park cleaning up after the weekend. Roothy and the 4wd monthly crew are filming here tomorrow so had to sort a few things out , and return the hire toilets , man what a shitty job. lol.

Ok scores , here goes.

Class A

car 1 Col and Paul 315 points (2nd)
car2 Taresa and Michelle 125 points (1st)

Class B (lites)

car 3 Dan and Aaron 1540 points (1st)

Class B

car 4 Darryn and Brenden 340 points (3rd)
car 5 Alan and Rob/Peter 170 points (1st)
car 6 Steve and Paul 325 points (2nd)
car 7 Rob and Bruce 1040 points (DNF)

Class C

car 8 Mick and Dale 445 points (1st)
car 9 Ben and Brian (DNF)

Watch out for 4wd tv for that one , very spectacular exit and then some. (Brian and Ben are both ok and it was me who requested them to be seen by a doctor. We then decided that it was best to call the ambulance although this was only precautionary.)

Maybe Shane (BIG RED) may be able to post some pics or footage of the accident and anything else and please if anyone else has some pics , it would be great to see them.

As this was round #3 of the series , winners were as follows

Class A

Taresa and Michelle

Class B (lite)

Dan and Aaron

Class B

Darryn and Brenden

Class C

Mick and Dale

Cheers

Pete

Maybe a bit of explaining is needed , because credit where credit is due , the White Rangie performed quite an acrobatic trick. 10 out of 10 for artistic flair and coriography.

From the pics it looks like they were going up the rock face and went end-over backwards. In fact Ben and Brian were coming down the rock face when this happened , and they ended up facing uphill on all four wheels. No mean feat. The right front dropped and it seems the steering broke as the car sat on its nose. This tilted the car to the left and it cart wheeled onto the rear of the roof on the rock ledge below. It then rolled sideways back to the right (the car's left as its now facing backwards) and dropped of the ledge. Its about 2 1/2 to 3m drop. The fuel neck or cap was damaged and fuel splashed everywhere just as the right rear tail light was smashed against the rock face. As Ben had his foot planted firmly on the brake , the smashing light exposed the lit fillament of the globe and ignited the fuel. The whole back of the car erupted into a bright orange flash. Quick thinking along with some prompting saw both driver and navigator out of the car and the fire was extinguished. Brian said it took him a good few seconds to realise that the world had stopped turning and that there was danger , he then reacted and dove out the window. Gladly the tank wasn't ruptured and no more fuel spilt so the fire was snuffed by the extinguisher powder and the remainder on the ground just burnt out by itself. Quick thinking by other officials and compeditors saw more fire extinguishers available but thankfully they weren't needed. After the situation was made safe , I asked Brian to sit down and asked him some questions as he complained of neck pain. It was decided to immobilise his neck with a neck brace and cold pack. An Ambulance was called to transport him to hospital to be examined and cleared. While they attended the gave Ben a check over as well. As they were getting Brian ready for transportation his blood pressure dropped and he passed out momentarily. I guess delayed shock , a little too much sun and the stress of the situation including a few late nites leading up to the event , but who knows. Thankfully once checked at hospital , he was cleared as fit and well , with some cuts behind his knee from quickly getting out of the car and a very sore body. Ben is apparently feeling the effects of the accident too. Shaken but not stirred so I hear. Apparently the car will be retired and and another rebuilt for next years events..............

Best of luck Ben and Brian.

Many thanks to the quick thinking of those closest to the accident and the crew for putting out the fire. Also thanks to those who helped stabilise Brian and shade him from the sun as I went to escort the incoming ambulance. Thanks to all who carried him to the awaiting ambulance , rolling him on and off the recovery strecher. Job well done. Im sure the Ambulance officers appreciated the experience of those around to help.

Thanks again to all involved.
