Broken tacho

Post by Dazza78 »

Hey guys i have a 2003 cruiser. The tacho stopped working the other day. Can anyone tell me if they have had any problems with their's. What part of the driveline tells the tacho how many revs the engine is doing?

Thanks

Petrol or diesel? Regardless its from the engine, haven't got a wiring diagram in front of me but most late model stuff gets a signal from the engine ECU. The cant recall whether the 1HZ has a rpm sensor on the pump or cam like the TD42 or at the rear on the flywheel like the old 2H, some cars, like early rangies use the alternator.
