Rear bar Wheel carrier

I have been doing my research and found my hub and stubaxel but looking to find best way to lock it to my rear bar.

Does anyone have any pics on how they lock theres in place. I got some over centr latchs from concept latch rated to 2000n swl and breaking load at 4000n but dont know if they will be strong enough.

Can I see your how you done it

the latch its self is not under much load so should be fine, can you tell me where you got the hub from?

I got the hubs from martins trailers in W.A.

Great service I got tnt to pick them (6) of them $15 freight. They cost me about 40 bucks each.

I have been looking at kamar bars I like there lock system but where can I buy one from?

I got the stubs for mine from Martins too, i maybe wouldnt hugely agree with you about service, buuut, in the end i got the parts, and they worked perfectly as expected so thats a bonus.

the zook looks like it would be the strongest one there. I am going to carry a out board and 35in spare on one and 2 jerrys and a 35in on the other so I need to make sure that its bloody strong.

With the tyres deflated and driving along a gravelly dirt road at speed, its an interesting feeling let me tell ya, it will fishtail with barely any steering input.

To make your tyre carrier (looks good by the way) what parts did you order from Martins? I'm looking at making a twin tyre carrier for the 60. Cheers.

You can get your stub axel and your hud from there. But if you let sub local save on freight.

Granite, im pretty sure i ordered:

C0131 - Hub : Steel-noflange :std
B0502 - Stub Axle 10: 39mm Round

Just maybe ring em and make sure that stub axle fits the flange.

Sorry, I meant 'michael a' with his 2 x 35s, 2 x Jerry cans & a boat motor. :shock: The thing would be just about wheelstanding everywhere.

No picture, but with barn style doors you can attached a connecting rod between the door and and wheel carrier and stopper on the wheel carrier to touch the back bumper just as the door catches engage. Then the wheel carrier opens with the door. Done 3 now, some over 2 years ago with no problems, just adjust the rod or the stopper as the stopper wears. With big tyres I also put a nylon slide bush to stop vertical movement or a pin into a spring bush in the bumper.

I bought my axles and flangless hubs from Trailer parts as well. They didn't supply bearing kits like I ordered and paid for, but they suggested they give me a credit and I buy them locally, which is what I did.

For the latch I used a large spring loaded pin, also from trailerparts. Works well, it probably rattles, but I don't hear it over the sound of the 2H! I would like to put a latch on as well. When I sort out the other side I'll use the spring loaded pin system as well as a latch. I also put on a gas strut on the swing arm. I bought it off Ebay and it is a strut off the rear of a 60 series LC.
