Manilla is appox 45km's North of Tamworth.

From Manilla:-

- Drive through town and then head (direction Barraba) north over Namoi River Bridge.

- 200m after bridge, turn left into Boggabri Rd (you will see a Paraglider or ARB graphic pointer)

- Drive 1km

-Just after Manilla River concrete bridge turn right into Wimbourne Rd (you will see a Paraglider or ARB graphic pointer)

- Drive 11km,s (gravel road after 6km,s)

- Count 3 dips on the way - go slow they are badly designed!!!!

- At 11km,s turn into ARB Xtreme Competition area.

Wimbourne Rd continues on to Upper Manilla (7km,s) and meets with the Highway to Barraba.

I will be contactable by phone 0418 745 830

Cheers

Yes it is 2 wd access.

Saturday will be the better day of the 2 because there will be 5SS run during the day, but then again Sunday is real good for the spectator because they get to see all vehicles over the 2 SS.

I am currently in Tamworth and will be contactable by phone only , no internet as such.

So if you have any questions please call me on 0418 745 830.

Sat would probably have more to see as traditionally Dave has run 5 stages, and Sun there would only be 2 slightly longer stages and then presentation just after lunch. This gives everyone a chance to pack up and head home.

Having said that now, this is subject to change at the director's whim.

Hey Tom 286, yes it should be accessible for 2wd as the property holds the hang-gliding championships and most of these people drive those funny sorts of cars. :) :) Anyway someone will tow you out if you get stuck (even if your in a toyota) ha ha ha

Have just spoken with Dave. Best route to Manilla is through Warwick and Texas. There will be signage closer to event. Fires will NOT be allowed.

G'Day Glen, yeah there are a couple of choices, you can either go Warwick, then out towards Inglewood and turn off to Texas, then Inverell, Bingara, Barraba and then towards Manilla and you will find signs before you hit Manilla. OR you can go to Warwick then down the New England Highway to Glen-Innes and turn to Inverell and so on again from there.

From Warwick to Inverell through Texas is 275 Klm.
From Warwick to Inverell through Glen-Innes is 276 Klm and is a better road but has a few more hills.

If you go from Warwick to Manilla via Tamworth it is only 20 Klm longer, especially for those that may be staying in Tamworth, you won't have much more to travel than anyone else.

Hope this helps anyone.

Just a quick update. Weather hot and dry. Yes food will be available at site.

If you want better camping (not in the middle of a paddock) I would camp in Manilla or even one of the pubs, contacts below:-

Imperial Hotel (02) 6785 1018
Royal Hotel (booked out)
Post Office Hotel (02) 6785 1162
Motel (02) 6785 1506
Caravan Park (02) 6785 1166

The SS will be a lot different then what we have done in the past (make sure your ground anchors work).

Hey Duncan thanks for the update on way to go, locals go up into Texas (can speed more) but the last time I came back from Manilla I found the Inverell - Glen Innis run good.

Look forward to catching up with everyone at Manilla.

Cheers

Yeah no worries Dave, either way is good but having travelled up through Manilla, Barraba, Inverell for a few years in the big rigs I would not recommend it if travelling through the night without a good ROO BAR. But day time it's a great drive.

Catch ya

I watched him work on it this arvo fella's and believe me you have nothing to worry about........he was like a fish out of water.

On a side note I suggested that with Ryano in the passenger seat they should be sporting a "baby on board" sign in the back window and that Troy should order the new passenger seat now cause Ryan's arse will bite a big hole in the seat

The passenger seat will be fine Linc. It's lasted a fair few rounds so far. :finger:
Final touches are getting done tonight... little things like damper, steering box etc.
I still can't believe the response to my innocent question of "Can we make the winch out speed a little slower so that I don't have to run?"
Leaving to head down tomorrow. Look out Tamworth, here we come.
