LJ70 (Bundera) engine swap

Post by Monox »

Hello all
I have :
- n.1 LJ70 2.4 Td with weak engine, prone to explode soon
- a nice RD28T Nissan Patrol 6cyl engine

Did anybody try a similar engine swap ?
With luck (and a gear buillder I know) I am looking for a way to couple toyota gearbox with nissan engine; I think a sort of "adator" on the input gear will do the trick, together with a flange or a rebult gear coupling bell.

Why don't you put a toyota engine in it? Far easier to mate the engine.

yes i know, normally we put 3.0 4cyl td toyota into the lj70
but i already have this nissan engine under hands and it's a temptation to fit it... should be around 150bhp

The RD28T have some temp issues here and others related to the diesel pump .. ( not the IP pre se )

The 1KZ-T it's a amazing engine .. 4 cil and impresive power.
