rang around a bit today and found one place with a 50mm ball (ie, not a cast ball) and they wanted about $120 for it... this is in brisbane.

So you can tow round regular trailers with this hitch?

I know I have seen guys at work with them but there trailers have like a big metal donut that gets clamped onto the hitch.

The top part locks in an upright position and there is plenty of clearance to tow with a standard 50mm trailer hitch....... :D
