does anyone know where to start to find the fault its a 90 model GQ auto thanx

O/D or no lockup??? If no lockup it a common as fault, well at least it is over here. There is a temp sensor in the trans that won't let lockup occur till the trans temp is up. Bad news, the sensor is part of the wiring and is expensive to replace, good news, most places that know of it simply bypass it with a resistor.
