Feroza or Suzuki

Hey all im lookin to buy a lil 4x4, id only be using it to take the dogs to the beach n as a normal car.

What im wondering is... whats better a Feroza or suzuki?

What goes better, whats better on fuel....

I really like Ferozas and Zuks and I reckon either a Feroza or a Vitara or a Sierra would do what you want it to do.

But I'd probably go a SWB Vitara for taking dogs to the beach etc.

either one. Get a 4 door I reckon because loading and unloading wet sandy furkids through a 2 door might wear thin after a while. Vitara is the only 4 door option there

Backdoor of a vitara would do it, not sure about the others but I assume they have a tailgate?

go a sierra or a rocky if you want a rgged rig, or vit or feroza for comfort

Both cars will be similar on fuel.

Personally, I would go with a vitara. Better parts availability, more aftermarket support, wider model choice, more common as an auto, more contemporary design( more modern interior, coil rear end etc), and depending on your budget, you can go up to a 2 litre as either the V6 4 door or 4 cylinder as a 2 door, these are miles ahead of the 1.5 in the feroza.

Don't get me wrong, feroza's are good strong cars and go well, but the lack of support does weigh against them.

Feroza's are also beginning to get a bit thin on the ground, so second hand parts are not that easy to come by.

Daihatsu has also pulled out of Australia leaving new parts supply up in the air a bit.

However engines are very easy to get with good parts supply as its the same engine as the Applause range and cheap to rebuild as you don't need any genuine parts. They win over the Vit in this area.

And another factor - Feroza's are not cheap.

As for looks, the Feroza's my choice ( i have one ) but a Vits not far behind and of course looks are very much in the eye of the beholder. They all look stupid on standard wheels and tires.........

IF you want to keep it simple, with some choices for modification down the track buy a Vit.

I think feroza's where Daihatsu's second biggest mistake (the 1st was making 1993 on Rockys with IFS ) And we all know rocky owners opinions are the only one's that matter in the hatsu section.

i had a feroza and i now drive a sierra. why? sierras are easier to get parts, easier to work on and sierras will out drive a feroza in the bush.

Sierra's will also give you a better starting point if you get the offroad bug.


vits are good also.


If you want cheap get a lada or a suby wagon

B4T - generally agree, but if you want to do some k's rather than driving around your local area the Feroza's in a different league. Having done k's in both there's just no comparison.

A Vit on the other hand - much better road manners / ride

TNA - A late model Rocky is more comfortable than a Feroza in my opinion, due to the ride quality and the extra space.

For on road duties mainly, I would go a Feroza over a Sierra, but consider the Vitara quite a lot.
If you plan to take it off-road a bit down the track, the Suzuki's win hands down in parts availability.

for onroad duties they are quite nice to drive.

you can fit 31's under a feroza with minimal hassle. just wind up the torsion bars and put extended shackles in he rear and 31;s fit with very little rubbing. On a sierra or Vit you need bigger mods but they work alot better when done.
