I thought 4.11 was an 80 series or lux ratio, wheras 4.1 was in the cruisers?

4.11 is early cruiser

4.1 is later cruiser (80 series)

80 series runs 41/10 or 4.1
60/75 run 37/9 or 4.11 before 1990 and 41/10 after the 1hz was introduced with 8 inch front diff

Mate, my old 89 Sahara had one in it, although deemed it absolutely useless, even after it was shimmed up.

If your thinking about whacking an LSD in the rear, i honestly wouldnt bother. its not worth the effort as it will make no difference.

Yeah being an 83 model you will have open centers front and rear with a ratio of 4.11, i think the rear lsd come in around 86 or 87 (please correct me if wrong)

The front and rear diffs are exactly the same, so you can swap around etc.
