GQ Clutch Problem!

Post by ROGQ »

ok this is how the story goes...
bout a week ago started engine and couldnt grab a gear. Replaced slave cylinder as it was leaking and still could not engage a gear. Replaced mater cylinder. Seem to be all good. Clutch worked fine for bout 20klms. On my way to work clutch started slipping out of the blue BADLY! Pulled over, bled system, then couldnt grab a gear again!!! Pulled of servo (booster) vacumn hose (and blocked the hose so i still had break pressue) and the clutch was working fine again. FOR 1 DAY! then it started slipping again, but not as bad this time, only in 3rd 4th and 5th going up hills or when you gave it right boot, Took booster down to clutch specialist and he tested the unit and said it was fine. He made a couple of adjustments on the pushrod (which i beleive is still not right, according to the gregorys manual) anyway put it back on this arvo, bled the system, CANT GRAB A GEAR AGAIN!!! with the motor turned of when you pump the clutch pedal it builds up in pressure but if you continue to pump you can feel a sudden realase in pressue, like it's not holding pressue. At the moment if i pump the pedal bout 10 times i can just grab a gear. But i know where the problem is (I THINK) when you jump underneath the car and watch the release leaver it only moves bout 10mm MAX, but a few days ago it was fine (when it was slipping) It's got me buggered, im outta ideas and need some help... any ideas???

drop the fluid out , completely clean out the lines some times ya get thing in there that shouldnt, flii up the res again , and as yu would of before pump it thro and bleed,

put foot on clutch and start the 4by if the pedal gose soft vacume works,

try ajusting the pedal under the dash
generally check ya lines for a leak
but useually if secondary cylinder gose ya replace the master too

ive checked no leaks, master has been replaces yes... i have probaly cleaned out the lines with new fluid 5 times over in the past week, each time i buy one it's a different color so i can tell? how would a blocked line explain the sudden release in clutch pressue after pumping 5-10 times? Have adjusted the pedal, and yeah the pedal goes soft after starting it up...
