deisel blowing black smoke

Post by loopy »

My 95 deisel triton blows small amounts of black smoke when under load and also when starting up.

Is this injector problems?

How can this be fixed?

Just thought i would piggy back on this thread seeing the broad subject line. ;)

I have a mitsu Delica.. 2.8L TD.... Blows black smoke under trailing throttle... e.g.. cruising along.. hit a hill.. and just leave ya foot where it is... out comes the smoke.
same scenario.. hit a hill and put ya foot down.. no smoke..

ideas? :?

enough smoke to leave a trail... its hard to describe the density of a smoke cloud.
Ya can still see through it.. but its definitely noticeable (people back off)..more than the usual particle dust.. its grey/black
