Commodores do run a simple loop cooler from the factory, but IMHO this would not be that effective for low speed (low airflow) high load applications like what is more likley to be found in a 4wd situation. A small cooler simillar to a auto cooler would a good option i think. This would also increase the volume of the system too.

Thanks Layto, yeah thats what I was thinking cause My Brother has a spare auto cooler he does not need.Do you think it would be ok to plumb up on the return hose ( low pressure line) ??? then I could mount the cooler infront of my radiator..should make a differance if not I could also put a small fan on it..

I mounted a small trans cooler on my power steering return line, cutting into the factory 'loop' that runs on the crossmember.

One side is really hot, and the other side is only warm, so it's doing its job. :D

The fluid is also not going brown and smelling funny anymore
