Diff Decisions.

Post by KiwiBacon »

My rangie now has enough torque that it's tail happy in second gear on dry tarmac and more silliness is still to come.
I figure the old 10splines are feeling a bit stressed right now so I'm planning something stronger and taking the opportunity to fit a locker or two.

The best solution is undoubtedly arb or maxidrive. Going to 24spline at the same time. But these will take some time.

Is the 24 spline diff stronger than the 10 spline? I've been told this is my current "fuse". Is it worth swapping to say disco 24 spline diffs/axles/hubs?

Will ashcroft, maxidrive and other driveflanges fit under vogue alloys and the factory steel wheels without any mods?

The vouge alloys wont fit with maxi flanges as far as I know, well they don't on my rangie. I think they would if I cut the center hole bigger. The standard disco steel 16" rims fit fine and the sunrasers fit good to.

They do, they just stick out the centre cap ;)

Just picked up some 24 spline disco axles (complete). They've travelled at least 250,000km less than my current 10 spline.

Has to be an upgrade, right? ;)

You're definately better off going with Maxi Drive parts. Give me a call for more details. 03 9762 2600 or www.allranges4wdservices.com
