A mate has one of the new style dual cab SR Hilux's with 205R16C tyres on 16x6 wheels.
What size tyres can he fit without any lift and the 6" wide wheels? 225/75R16's would fit easy but how about 235/85 R16?? Anyone know if they would rub?? Any other suggestions??
cheers.

tyre size for new hilux

Hey mate,
I have seen 255/85/16s BFG muddies fitted to the SR rims on a Hilux (with Old Man Emu suspension), with only a very small modification required to the inner guard, i believe only a piece of plastic. Awesome tyre for these, bit over 33" diameter. Im sure the smaller 235/85 would work no problems, especially an All Terrain.
225/75's no worries, 245/75s no worries (oversize in QLD i believe, if they still run the 15mm over bullshit) and im pretty sure 255/70/16's will fit, but not an ideal fitment for a 6" rim.
Bearing in mind, the new Hilux has a higher load rating than previous models, so you can 'whack a 31X10 on er' like the olden days. Insurance will tell you to 'Git Ferked!'
