Post by red rattler »

hi,
i am looking at running 36 inch tyres on a bj42 1982, and am wanting to know what ratios i should use. the truck is mainly used off road and it has the 3.4 litre, 4 speed. any info would be great.

you can go right down to 6:1 and stuff, but yeah there are other trade offs, I would go for 4.56 or 4.88

I'd go 4.88 with 36" tyres.

They didn't come out standard on any Landcruiser. Doubt if you would be lucky enough to pick them up 2nd hand either. Try Ebay in the US, there is a seller on there who will post to Aus. Cheapas. The other alternative is to try locally, but expect to pay $450+
