Does anyone know who in vic upgrades the td42 alternator to get more amps out of it?

goto www.aea.com.au and have alook there. Theres an 120amp model with the VAC pump mounted on the rear. From memory they just need a slight grind of the mounting tabs to fit. Also from what has been said on here their pretty cheap.

also have a look at a GU vac pump off a factory turbo to retrofit, then alternator options are endless.

Nice idea but far from a cheap option. As you need a complete front case and some other stuff. And unless the wreckers know the motors stuffed. They aint real keen on pulling them apart.

Where as a 120amp alt with vac pump from AEA can be had for under $400.

i retrofitted a second hand pajero alternator to mine 100 amps i think . just had to fab up some mounts and all good for 60 bucks :D
GQ TD42, 4" lift, 2" bodylift, 4.6 s, detroit lockers, 35,s t3/t4 plus a turbo,
