redzook have you actually weighed them to know the difference. one of the main reasons i have not gone down the lux diff path was because of weight. i havn't weighed them but i know i can lift a front wt zook diff onto the back of my ute but damn near bust my poofoo valve trying to drag a lux front across the shed floor. maybe i didn't have my weeties that day but 40kg total doesn't sound enough.

z links are dangerous and if ya want a cheap fix you can put ur own life in ur hands. its been said before more than once do the damn thing right the first time or dont bother doing it at all.

Im pretty sure that z-links are nigh on impossible to engineer nowadays too. IIRC Droopypete had one engineered in his a while ago but Im pretty sure they are out of the question now.

Just get hi-steer. Its the only really costly part of a SOA and totally worth it.
