Cherokee for towing

Post by toymad »

Just wondering what sort of loads these things can tow. Could they tow a trailer with a rockbuggy etc or are they a bit small?

No probs.....fitted with a HaymanReese or Towmaster the XJ can tow about 2275kg....legally...
BTW the new grand can tow something like 3000kg legally....
Anyways I know a few people that regularly tow car trailers etc with XJ's.... oh yeah & I'm currently looking for a boat (16' ½cabin fibreglass jobbie) with will be towed behind my missus XJ....

My old man used to tow his 2500kg Whittley behind his XJ no worries before he traded it.

I towed the boat from Melb to Merimbulah and back with the XJ and although it was a bit light for that load (read: tail wagging the dog  ) it was still doing it pretty comfortably as long as you drive sensibly.

Cheers.
