front end noise 80 series
i have a clunking sort of noise in the front of my 80 when you take off and in low range under load only. any suggestions other than cv's and i have pulled the front tail shaft out and checked it and seems to be fine. any help would be great thanks.
4 inch lift,i have a locker in there too. it started just bitumen driving to work and back. it didn't just start after i had been wheeling and is slowly getting worse.
i am pulling the cv's out to check them but it dosn;t sound like a brocken cv i dont think , i have had a few. i might be wrong. just looking for any other things it may be.

pinion bearing? Pull the shaft out and see how much play is in the pinion flange. While it is out lock the CD in and take it for a drive and see if the noise goes away, that will definitely isolate it to the front end. Other see Duncan at Top Cog and he might be able to figure it out as he is up the coast
