Re: reseting springs
to get a hot reset, with new, longer main leaf (you need this to stop the shackles inverting) i was charged 75 a corner, but that was removing and installing them myself.macca81 wrote:anyone have a rough idea on the cost to get leaf springs reset profesionaly?

Spit my last breath
if your inverting shackles, there's a fair chance your main leaf is shot/bent anyway, i got mine rearched (hot reset is the only way to go) 2 inches taller because i was there anyway.macca81 wrote:i was thinking more along the lines of getting the arch reset back to normal... keeping the origional leafs

1 lamp post , 1 winch and snatch block, 1 tape measure
Leaf spring round the lamp post and pull the spring round with the winch hold it fpr a few moments. do this several times to give spring a memory
The more you pull it round the bigger the arch in the spring start slow and work it up till your happy it is very easy to do i have done this heaps of times
alternative 2 buy new springs or some from the wreckers
