hmm. jackeroo late models had prety good motor's. but it took em a long time to get right. and the transfer case hangs to low.
So i'd say pajero very strong drivline, good motors and proven.

Well depends what you want it for i reckon. For a tourer there probably both just as good as each other. The 3.1 TD Jacks had some issues with reliability though.
It'll come down to what you like and dislike driving each vehicle.
Paj has a great reputation and are good off road. And with some mods they can easily mix it with the Big two.

Precisely who was the Jackaroo targeted at? Oh, hang on. Most road reports of the day seemed to think the Jackaroo was the better vehicle, but the Pajero still dominated the sales - so I guess the Jackaroo wasn't targeted at anybody.

OK so they both have pi$$weak IFS front ends,
BUT the isuzu has 1.3" or HUGE 1.5" rear axles DAMN they are as big as DANA60HD or nissan H260. plus the rear links are waaaaay long and very easy to get flex out of if you are creative with shock position. Gboxs and tcases are TUFF as!!

I think I remember reading somewhere that the Isuzu Jackaroo, Trooper, Rodeo, Mu 5spds were manufactured by Aisin for Isuzu, and share allot in common with the Toyota R series gearbox (also made by Aisin). As for Pajero vs Jackaroo, I don't know much about either. From the little I do know I'd only pick the Isuzu because its been rebaged as a Holden .
