Hi im in a bit of a dilemia, im trying to decide on which colour i should choose for my upcoming winch challenge 4x4, so i want some input from u guy's. I don't want anything to over the top cheers.
well this was my idea for mine, but i was planning on going either kermit green, neon/fluro orange or a nice blue with the aussie flag on either the bonnet or roof
'85 1st Gen Runner- 31" rubber, 2" susp. lift, UHF. more mods coming soon.
greens great! but its really hard to get a secondary colour to go with it for your bars wheels and the like. purple looks good with it but its pretty wild. be good to see another 60 kickin around the traps . try n think of colour combo's that u like, that'll help u narrow down the options
You want a solid colour.
You want a cheep colour
You want a colour that is easy to match
You want a bright colour (photographs better, which is better for sponsors)
You want a colour that stands out.
I am thinking the same colour as alan cuthill, scott mcgill and sharpie but i like flouro orange, green etc but it's hard to decide if it's worth the effort matching, preparing and paying for a paint job that will look good, but will end up dinged after the the first ss in a comp. I would like something that looks good but not over the top i don't know much about different paints etc that's why i started this thread but thanx 4 the tips so far.
seemed that every 2nd rig at obc this year was blue,,
now flavour of the month seems to be spew green,,
stick with the orange idea, but with a strong 2nd colour
(eg spew green, yellow or blue)for all the acceseries
if u go to some paint shops they have something like a standard colour range where rather than picking a manufactures colour u just pick from theyre basic colour range. there's always all the bright colours in there, n usually only solids which is what u want cause theyre easy to blend. go the bright exciting colour that u want, its no more effort than white really, and its quite easy to flick a bit more over as u ding things ( go 2pac by the way not acrylic- my opinion). by the way im in the process of making moulds to make fibre glass inner and outer front guards- might be helpfull to u later on.
Thanx for the ideas i think a flouro orange body with the rollbars, tray and winch bar etc painted blue or green not sure what shade. These guards you talk about Rob are you making fibreglass ones for 60 series. Im vey interested because i have searched the net FRP don't list them and i rang JT fibreglass, but they said they would ring me back if they could make them but never rang me back.
Would you like me to pm you about more info cheers 60 mad.
yeah im making an outer guard and im thinking about making an inner guard mould too. i figure when u crunch a guard your gonna wreck the inner as well. im in the process of preping a guard to mould now, itll be slightly modified though. just extending the leading edge of the flair a little to help clear tyres and putting a flange on the flair so rubber flairs can be fitted easily to help cover a wider track. hopefully be ready very early next year
No way would i sell my 60 it is a change from gq's and will hopefully give them a run for their money, and how come your baggin one of the best cruiser's made considering your username is cruiser 89 . Rob the guard's sound awesome when you start sellin em let me know.
