Ok I've had my Roza for a week now.
And I've found it hard to select reverse gear with out crunching it.
I have how ever found that some times if I run the gear shift through the other gears first it helps. But then today even when I did that it still wouldn't let me put it into reverse.
And yes the clutch was fully disengaged.
So whats the deal? is this a common problem and whats the fix for it?
I've found also that the clutch pedal nearly hits the floor before it disengages is this normal or does it need adjusting or replacing?

If it aint broke pull it apart and find out why not.
Reverse always seemed to crunch on mine as well so AFAIK its just the gearbox. Sometimes had to put it into first and then reverse.....
The fix is to use another brand of gearbox
Clutch pedal does drop as the clutch wears - but it could just need cable adjustment. Be cautious in your adjustment however as if you get it wrong you can wear out your release bearing. Suggest you read the section in the manual and follow its advice.

Mine also the reverse is very sensitive. One thing you can do is to first stop with no gear and after 2 seconds slowly put the reverse (most ola JAPAN cars do that). 100% you have no problem is very common you just need to be carefull.

Yeah there's not much... Also the clutch squeeks now which i was thinking could be the cable was too tight but I havent had a chance to see what's going on... Might back it off a couple of clicks and see how she goes

that squeak?! ...another 'hatsu thang mines does it .. my mates one does it and the two in the local car yards I took for a drive recently (Just to compare ) they all squeak when you push the clutch in ... I can make mine go away for a few days by spraying wd40 down the clutch cable ... aways comes back tho ..now I dont bother with it4RunnerBoy wrote:Yeah there's not much... it's a bit like the fan belt squeal when cold ..... or the reverse gears .... it's the little oddball things like that make owning a Feroza fun

My driver's seat also squeaks...
But I think the clutch cable is probably a little tight so I'll back it off a touch and see if its any better.
My fan belts and such don't squeak so it's all good!

Had a looksy today at the clutch cable and there is about an inch of free playbefore it starts to grab........but then I have to push the pedal literaly to the floor before it completely disengages which seems really odd to me compares to other manual cars I've owned.
I also looked at the adjustment bit for the clutch cable. and from the adjustment point all the threaded section is hangin on the side closest to the front of the car. So I'm assuming that there is no more adjustment left in it, is that correct? and if so It's looking like it's time to replace the clutch
