I dont know how to say this without being smart but do you really think suzuki would stack blocks like that and have the body so far away from the chassis? Yes it looks like some one has given it a 3" b/l the stacked ones look like they are just on the supports not the actual mounts. What size tyres you running? I have spoa no b/l and run 33s and have room for 35s
It shouldnt be too hard to take it back out just check it wont interfer with other mods like bigger/raised tank, raised t/c, shock mounts. Hard to tell if youve bought a modded rig and dont have alot of experience with zooks. If your unsure find a local zooker and get them to have a look for you.

running 32s they rub at full flex when the wheel is turned. the springs are sag so much its not funny. and im worryed that if i put in new spring it will sit up high so i want to try lower the body a bit. the mounts look as thow they are welded on. just hit it with the grinder? so if i where to remove the lift it should sit about an inch of the chassie? is there any zookers in sydney nsw, blacktown to be more spesific want to give me a hand one weekend?

If you do replace the spring.. I tried to get stock height springs but ome 50mm lift springs were HEAPS cheaper. So if you do it get 4xome rears use the $$ you saved and put a set of rears in the front this will push the diff forward and the tyres away from the firewall plus give you more flex and a better ride you can always take out a leave so the sag a bit but my HD rears in the rear of my lwb sagged to a reasonable height quick enough with to rear passengers cargo draws tools and a 33" spare.
But I would do this until you get rid of the b/l, not bagging b/ls but spoa AND 3" B/L is too high for 32s.
Anyway thats my thoughts have a good think and see what you come up with.

Just had another look at your pics the rear shock should be fine the front MAY have to be lowered or cut the wheel arch to suit and the block look like they are only tacked onto the bottom. You would have to check the blocks on the actual body mounts hard to see in the pic.
P.S Dont give in so easy thinkof the benifits/ drawbacks of each mod

I say stick with the body lift and just find yourself one leaf for each spring to swap out to get them sweet again. Something like the "add a leaf" thing 4WD1 advertise. Old springs will flex better anyway and like you said with the SPOA and BL you don't need more hight. Then chuck on the biggest blody tyres you can
A) Who cares how far the springs have sagged? Why is it important?
B) Turn your front shocks up the right way. RS9000's do not work properly upside down.
C) My guess is that it's going to be pretty complicated to take that BL out. The inner guards are going to have to be cut to fit that shock mount and the exhaust is going to have to move to under the rear crossmember. From the looks of things, this will interfere with the rear shocks.
D) Judging from where the tyre is sitting relative to the chassis, it is certainly a very low SPOA.
E) 32's aren't all that big to be running with that much lift.
If it was my car, I think I would pull the BL but be aware that this will mean you will have to do guard work to get the tyres to clear and carefully place your bumpstops to keep the guard cutting to a minimum. Obviously, there will be other work as I have pointed out.
As for springs, if you pull the BL you will be able to run some slightly lifted springs and they will last heaps longer and more importantly control axlewrap better.
One way or another, you will be in for lots of work if you want to keep the height down and run more durable springs.
This is one of the problems of buying an already modified car - you buy someone else's ideas, not your own.
Steve.

Hahaha you musn't know some of the dodgey engineers that I've met! It's handy to know these peoplewant33s wrote:So much done to that car... Welded body lift... OLD Toyota Landcruiser shock posts... Have you got an engineers report for those two things plus whatever else has been done?
I don't know an engineer anywhere that will approve bits of box welded to the chassis as a body lift.
Yeah real handy when you get pulled up by Dept of Transport inspectors.. Not only you but your dodgy engineer mate will both go a row.GRPABT1 wrote:Hahaha you musn't know some of the dodgey engineers that I've met! Which only ends up making mods more difficult for those who do/want to do, it legitimately.
Want 33's - those spacers in that position should be fine through an engineer - they are only where the rubbers sit, they're not retained at all. I have lifted a heap of cars like this for the rubber spacers only, not the bolted mounts. Personally, I can't see the point of a 3" BL and don't like the spacer on a spacer, but I can't see why and engineer wouldn't like it.
brendan_h:
Why do you need to replace your springs? If you don't want any added height, just use stock sierra springs of you break one.

i would love to remove the BL but then its too much trouble redoing the shock mount, exhaust, steering, ect too much work and not enough to gain. thats in my oppinion. but ill be looking into takeing it out see exacely how much work will need to be done

Hey he doesn't pass dodgey stuff, just lenient on the stupid rules like stuf that's legal down south but not in QLD.want33s wrote:Yeah real handy when you get pulled up by Dept of Transport inspectors.. off topic but i though ill ask here instead of making a new thread.
i just went down to lukeys exhaust and was quoted $1075 for extractor, new high flow cat, and full 2inch system fitted.
is that price a little high because to me it is.
thanks

i just looked around on the new and come up with this
270extractor posted from suzisport
150posted for a 2inch high flow cat
the exhaust shop told me 300bucks for a cat. 420bucks for extractors and highflow cat is relative cheap to me, posted to my door as well. so i guess now i should go back tot he shop and see how cheap he will go. or ill just go to another place. how much should a 2inch system cost? without cat/extractors
