Quick question about body lifts...

Quick question about body lifts...

Just need to know the diameter I should make the blocks to suit a MWB Cruiser...

Some people say 50mm diameter, others say has to cover the whole surface it sits on...

Covering the whole surface is prolly right...

What diameter should that be, can't measure, as my truck is at the panel beaters.

Please Help... ;)

Just had a thread on this recently as I'm about to do my middy.

Consensus was, use biggest diameter possible for each point.

You'll find front and back are 55mm and middle 3 points are 75mm diameter.

If you want to make your own blocks, I have Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene in 55mm and 75mm and I'm only making 6cm lift blocks so I'll have 50cm of each left when I'm done (I'll keep a little for spare) PM me if you're interested.

Search for a thread "Bodylift... yes I did search first" that I started to see what was said.

I'm doing it tomorrow week so I'll let you know how it goes!!

Thanks mc dave.
I had seen that thread, but not the last bits...

I think all of top rubber mounts (with the metal plate this the body sits on) are all around 75 - 80mm in diameter...

I know the HDPE would be cheaper and easier to work with, but the you have to work out the 'crush tube' diameter and source it, also the proper length of the crush tube.

I saw On Tracks HDPE lift blocks, all but the crush tube sizing...
A bit worried about using HDPE as I dont want to do all the work and then get taken off the road, ally would be easier, no crush tubes to worry about.

On Track 4x4s blocks were also recessed both top and bottom with a washer that slots into that, if that is required for them to be passed, even more work...

I might try to see some of the people at ally shops in person...
