Cant get alternater out...

Post by dan_2818 »

Gday. The alternater on my 89 diseal hilux got a bit wet the other day, so ive been trying to get it out.
Ive removed all bolts and hoses, but it just wont come out.
Its as if i havent removed the pivot bolt (which i have) coz its pivoting but wont budge.
Any ideas???

Cheers, Dan

Bigger lever and / or hammer if it's just stuck in the pivot section. Mine had the same thing when I first replaced it (yes gotta love that water and mud) and just took a bit more force to get it out of that pivot hold. Although I could be totally wrong.

I found the hard bit to be lifting the alt up and out of the engine bay as it was too big to go between engine and fan, but practice helps :P
