Roll Cages & sun visors

Post by schuler »

Just wondering what people use for their internal fold down sunvisors when they have a cage?

My rangie should be back from the fabricators next week, so i need to start on all the fiddely small things...

Cheers

Hi v840,

Yeah i need to mount to cage, i think i remember seeing some hot rod type visors that could clamp around front of cage, but can't find them anywhere.

So i figured some one must have sourced something on here, any input welcome.

make your own

3/6mm ply, a metal rod, the full span of the roofline

cover the ply and rod in 6mm foam, both sides, vinyl around that

make a bracket to house each end of the metal rod, so it clamps it together (bit of metal, drill a hole)

put a thread on the driver side and a wingnut on the end of that, that way you can put tension on it, and clamp it tight so it doesn't flap about in the breeze

connect the rod to the ply, with a key hole style joint (bit of metal cut out so it slides on from the end of the rod, then the ply slides into it, glue it up with megapoxy or similar
