ok, this vehicle is not a 4wd, HOWEVER i am lead to believe this engine is common in a few other mazdas, incl the MPV or whatever its called.
so, my story:
unlucky day, bought myself a daily crapper to use in melb cos im selling my black supra and white soarer and wanted something comfy and reliable that i wont lose my license in so i grabbed a mazda 929 top of the range with all the goodies (sunroof, ps, pw, auto, 3.0 v6, power mirrors, heaps of room inside, mp3 player, etc etc).. nice car.. til i drove FOUR KMS from the womans house and the timing belt gave out...
and in typical tradition of my life.. pictures follow:
nice interior, shame it doesnt drive

anyone ever busted a timing belt in a 92-99 mazda 929 V6 3.0?
Ive read a lot of posts on the net about how in haynes manuals and gates timing belt catalogues are incorrect saying they are interference motors, however i was hoping someone had direct evidence and had their own belt snap on a mazda v6 motor.
since its next to impossible to tell if the valves belt without pulling the motor apart im well.. kinda not wanting to put a new timing belt on it only to find the motor is toast
