Turbo Timer Breakdown

How do you stop your engine when the TT breaks down. I have a BES TT from Bogaard Electronic Services fitted to my HJ61 Cruiser. Around town I always hit the stop button on the TT to stop the engine. This button could have been pushed in say 300 times a year for the vehicles 19 years of life. I have not pulled the unit to bits but in theory I could either short or open circuit the switch to stop the engine are there any other alternatives?

I will try removing the key from the ignition and use arm/imobilise the alarm system to stop the engine.

The other comment is how do you get the vehicle to start? Does the ignition go thru the TT via the stop switch and a relay

The turbo timer should supply power to the acc or on circuit side of the ignition key vehicle should start even if the timer is buggered because it only runs in parallel to the origional system and does not need it to start the vehicle if the timer in the turbo timer got stuck on you could use the override switch to turn it off,or if the overide switch buggers up the timer should cut the engine, you would have to be pretty unlucky for both to fail at the same time...but if it did all you need to do is cut the power to the turbo timer by cutting the wire or just fit a switch in the circuit when fitting the timer but if you have a manual car you could just use the clutch to stall the engine and just start it as per normal.
