Hilux stress?
Hey guys. just a few questions reguarding my hilux, as most of you may no i won the set of trail gear 4.7's and are almost in the ute. The few things i wanted to clarify was, tyres and most running gear. Now i got 4.3's in diff wise and standard cv's.
Now that i have gears i was gonna sell my 32 bighorns, and go my original tyre that i wanted a 33 jt2 in an 11.5 wide. ive been told i should be right now that im geared down, both drivablity and driveline stress, but does this include my strenght of cv;s?
im pretty good and no what situations i shouldnt be uppin it and turning hard into things with force, but just though i could get someone to clarify this in simple for me. im also unlocked, so no stress of lockers to consider.
cheers guys, hope you all had a good chrissy!

comes down to how u drive i think.....i belive once u are locked u reduce ur chances of breaking a cv due to having equal drive to both wheels, so the times u need to give it gas to "hop"for lack of a better word over a obstical are reduced and this is when ppl seem to break cvs. the other seems to be when the wheels are turned and theres abit to much grip or to much gassing they go pop. just drive it n if they go pop replace it then.

Chris runs his 36 iroks with dual cases and standard ratios he is running stock CV's also and done some prettys tuff stuff but he keeps of the loud pedal and crawls most stuff so they can hold up but for how long is the Q and keep it off full lock.
Just adjust your steering stops out a little further so you cant go to far a lock takes a bit less of stress on the CV and when your ready get the 30 spliners.
