oil coolers

Post by Sterlo »

g'day guys

Need some advice in reguards to oil coolers on the old SD33. I know it been done before to remove the old heat exchange from the side of the block and replaced it with a oil/air cooler.

Now my question being how big should the cooler be and where to get one. It will need 1 with at least 12mm pipes due to the cooler and filter being a full flow design

Any info would be much appreciated

Try a hydrolic shop they should be able to help you out,as 12mm in/out is bigger then most oil coolers have.

i got tranny coolers on the front of me shorty that are about that big they even got little temp switch and fan on em. will flow a fair bit more than a convention hydraulic cooler. i know automatic shops hate hydraulic coolers cause they build a box for someone and then they whack one of them on it and it burns out there auto and they come back chasing warranty

Thanks mate

Got onto a good USA mob flex-a-lite coolers. 4 run, end to end, 5/8 tube. Should be enough for full engine flow, with 1/2 NPT fittings,, No hose clamp crap. Will post up picks when shute is up and running.
