Post by icelandpatrol »

Hello again and thanks for responding
you dont hear from me because of time difference
now it is 1 in afternoon or mabybee you say 13:00
Back to TPS as I wrote in another post my new engine does not run at all
there is no air in diesel diesel is coming up where it goes in to the burn
(dont know name of i) still I think it is not strong enough .
If anyone has this TPS in his car with 6 wires I would be wery happy to get a picture of it so i can connect it. The colors in my car are different
then the colors on the TPS. And about pictures i dont know how to put in here but I can give you an website of a club http://www.f4x4.is/new/photoalbum/defau ... 5400/41926

Very nice looking Patrol

My TPS only has 3 wires, so I'm assuming the extra 3 on yours is for the auto gearbox?

I have just had a look at the spare pump I have, and the TPS on that has 6 wires (its off an auto).
Can you give a little more info on why you think the tps is the problem?
Is it not hooked up at present?

Are any of the colours on the loom and tps the same colour? (are they all the same colour, just dont match the plugs) or are the all totally different?

Can you give the colours of the loom plug, and the tps plug?

TPS

Post by icelandpatrol »

Hello again

kiwi the plug on oilpump does not fit plug from 3.0 and there are different colours i have tried a lot. The reason i think my car does not go on is that
my friend had a mitsubishi with same kind of acting and it appeard to be a thief protecting on oil pump it only allows a little oil to the engine
so I am told tht 3 wires could be enough .
Someone asked why yours patrols dont come on 39 inc . Ours dont come like thar we modifi them here.

so again if anyone knows how to wire tps maybe even straight
you would make me wery happy Helgi

not on an EFI diesel, they are "fly by wire". no TPS = no go.

tps no need

Post by icelandpatrol »

Hello again and happy new year
Well now I can tell you somethings if you are doing the same as I did
that is 4.2 instead 3.0 it is wery easy you can forget the TPS on the inject
in 3.0 the TPS is in the acceleretor inside th car the cordless one
so you may not remove that , but you make a wire accelerator atached
to it, and on front of the 3.0 engine is a little sensor with 2 wires in it you
use that you makea bracket for it on front of the engine, and you make
a ironplate 2mm thick exactly square 15.4 cm cut out the middle abot ´
7 cm then you take of the swingwheel down on front of the engine and
polish well the back the wheel and then you elctricweld it on exactly in middle put it back on and posess the little sensor 1mm above it to left
then the engine is reading the rpm from there. I hope you will understand
this and sorry if some words are not right spelled.
Again to my motor its running fine now and the reason it did not go on
was that the underlifts (dont know if right name) were unhooked from
rockerarms so no walves were opening. but I am still not driving because
I broke some pump inside the autotransmission when putting together
so now that is been replaced hope i drive tomorrow (sunday)
Anyway many thanks
regards Helgi
