Apparently some oz patrols have them also.

Just have to ring around wreckers and engine rebuilders I guess.

Aren't rotative pumps better than inline ? Some early GQs in Panama came with inline pump. It's not a rare thing here.
Now you tell us what you know. MAybe we all start now digging for inlines.

Well, my car is 1990 GQ Shorty, and this in line pump it's an original gear, this pump is a Diesel KIKI In Line Pump, if you Google it you can get some info about it. Here at Costa Rica it's not an easy thing to get a GQ shorty and even harder to get this kind of pump. The only thing I know it's that this pumps are created for very HD work. Some time ago I was wondering what kind of modifications can be done to this pumps and I asked Craig Yeatman from Highway Diesel some questions and he told me that I will be able to get a very serious HP out of it, but he didn't told me what exactly can be done to ti.
One of the members here has an inline pump as well, and he went to http://www.westenddiesel.com.au/ and they help him by installing a compensator and some electric device in order to adjust it correctly. All this to have a turbo installed of course. But it will be much better to hear some advice from somebody that knows about this pumps, cause I don't know a lot of info.

If I can help more, just let me know guys....

Cheers

Few of the earlier Y60 Patrols came out with inline fuel pumps here in NZ, but not many make it to a wrecker, they just get driven into the ground.

Very easy to modify the inline for decent HP.

Hi GR TROL,

You said that it's very easy to modify the inline pump to get some decent HP, what kind of mods can be done to it?

I was also told that one could get serious HP out of one of these but that they will not respond as quick as the royary pump.I have one of these on my old motor and would consider trying it if anyone has any suggestions.I am trying to get someone here in South Africa to modify my rotary pump but no one is is willing.I am comming over to Aus for the OBC and am hoping to be able to get mods done while Im there if I dont get lucky here

In central america (nicaragua honduras and el salvdor all of the patrols came /come with this pump inline I owned 2 and never had problems, nissan here didnt even know the other one existe because I asked them because the safari turbo only works with rotary pump. the inline is more simple and fails less.
for turbo the rotary is better thats what I was told.

if you need more info or price of the pump tell me I can ask the dealer and or look in a junker, but dought to find it in a junker those cars are indestructables

I could get you a local inline IP pretty easy. But then you'll have to tell us your secret :D

FYI, my '92 LWB high-roof's got an inline pump too; it's a non-turbo car, imported from Cyprus, except my pump's stamped up as a Zexel.

An acquaintance with a similar car runs his on straight SVO all the time (60:40 SVO/DERV in the winter) and reckons it runs better on SVO than DERV.

;) thats the reason why, cause its warmer here, my old Sd33T runs a much, much thicker mix( mods needed ) and returned a 17l/100km on 35x12.5 cooper stt and was mainly hard hway running and a few hours on the beach. Its in std form. With a front mount intercooler and a few more psi, it should be even better on the hway

700km cost me about $20 in fuel.

Itd be nice to step up into a GQ later next year, but with my MK still going well, there really isnt a point i guess.
