Coily tank, Vl pump
Coily tank, Vl pump
For my Baleno engine mpfi coversion, I have found a coily tank which has the injected fuel bowl inside for 110 bucks, I thought seemed good as they are rare as, but the wreakers also wants 110 for a vitara fuel pump, is there a cheaper option? i.g. VL commy fuel pump as they are inline and it will be picking up the fuel from the bowl anyway? Or should i just fork out the 110?

Yes, but doesn't sound like more than $110 worth of stuff ?GRPABT1 wrote:Just use the standard tank with carby lift pump to and surge tank with an external high pressure pump attatched to that. You don't even need the surge tank, mine doesn't run one.
Bluesuzy, just fork out the $110. what you will then hold in your hand will just bolt straight in to the coiler tank*, be quiet, reliable, and look 100% stock. It's the best solution.
I have seen vitara tanks with the pump in them change hands for well over $300, so you will have a bargain.
* Just confirm that before you spend the money I haven't physically done this but have looked into it and it looks spot on- take the coiler tank in with the pick up removed and drop the vitara pickup in. A note, they only bolt in around one way.

I've got just a VL commodore pump in my zuk, bolted to the chassis rail where the stock fuel filter used to go. Works fine, unless you run it out of gas, then you have to remove the fuel hose at the throttle body to purge the air, as the pump cant pull enough vacuum to lift fuel from the tank when its pushing air.

I've also put a vitara pump in a coily tank, and they do work beautifully. The holes are spaced so it will only go in one way, but to make the hoses line up its better to slot the holes and rotate the pump to suit.Gwagensteve wrote: * Just confirm that before you spend the money I haven't physically done this but have looked into it and it looks spot on- take the coiler tank in with the pick up removed and drop the vitara pickup in.
