Anyone seen this before

Post by hyzook »

The centre has cracked the side off (pic) It happened as I was turning a left corner up a hill and the locker slipped a tooth at the same time. I did the same thing about 6 or 7 years ago, I am curious if anyone has seen it happen before.

I dont break things often but when I do, I do it properly

I didn't think it was common, the locker was unlocking fine and there were no broken springs or pins so it wasn't locked up like a welded diff.

The locker was around 10yrs old and has been turning 33's with a lot of rock crawling and road km done in that time and was very worn, I think the worn teeth have been causing it to slip a tooth every now and then possibly shocking the carrier causing the crack ?
A new locker arrived today from the states and should be back on road tomorrow :D

thats awesome, never seen or heard of this happening before.
yeah, it does seem like the shock load of the locker slipping, but still, impressive
