Help I lost my axles!!

Post by shrekman »

Well I didn't really lose them, the diff i got for my 94 XJ didn't have any with it.

Problem is it isnt a Dana35 (#@%* piece of sh1t that broke) but a chrysler 8 1/4. Different axles. I was told by the blokes at Poly 4x4 that the last of the XJ's (2000 on) had these fitted.

I can get axles new for about $400 each but surely there has to be some second hand ones out there. If anyone could help out with a wreckers that may have them or even have some themselves it would be great. All of the blokes in south east melbourne I've tried don't have them but can sell me new ones.
If I cant drive it, drink it, build it or bang it I dont care about it!!

if you have a 8.25 you are a lucky man!!!! they are rare as hens teeth in Oz and a shit load stronger than a D35. Try getting them from a KJ chreokee, they also use 8.25s. $400 isn't that bad...but maybe try out some US sites (eg. rawbrown.com)...my as well upgrade to some cromo axles if you plan on running big rubber. i have a spare set of D35 axles, are u sure it really is a 8.25?
