Hi im wanting to put a 5 speed into my mq swb, i have an rb30 here that wants to go in at same time, i wish to keep mq diffs what is needed exactly , currently it has an sd33, i have fuel tank and pumps etc for the motor

Been a while since I did mine. What five-speed is it? I think you'll need and adapter if it's an MQ/MK as the bellhousing is different to the GQ RB30 pattern.

It's obviously a physically longer gearbox so you're going to need a longer front shaft and a shorter rear one.

Gearbox mounts will need changing as well

i havent got a gearbox as yet not sure on which one to get any recommendations? working out the cheapest option, or would a 4 speed be ok with an efi rb30 like not to heavy on petrol,

if i keep the 4 speed can i just use a gq rb30 5 speed bellhousing and clutch?

A lot of work fitting up a 5spd box :shock:

You'll need a bellhousing thats drilled to suit the MQ box ( 4/5 speed are the same pattern ) and drilled to suit the new motor.......
