ABS Light on dash lit up - Update

Post by me3@neuralfibre.com »

I posted a whil back on the ABS error on the HZJ105 100 Series Cruiser.

Once the front diff was repaired and the centre diff unlocked, the light went out after a couple of corners and 500m.

My guess is that the Toyota software was counting RPM between front and rear wheels. With the diff locked, they should be the same, but as they weren't it freaked. Once situation was back to normal, it was happy again.

I know they run tricky algorithms, as the early systems used to disable ABS when 4wd was locked in. Toyota obviously got smarter and just changed the software to cope. It doesn't obviously cope when it's inputs don't match up.

Thanx
