They are a very aggressive tyre and are VERY noisy on road.
How long they will last being used on road will depend n type of vehicle and the manner in which you drive.
I didn't have any problem using mine on road in both wet and dry conditions in my GQ Patrol.

The best bet is to have them as a 2nd set and swap them when you head to the bush.

They quite a good buy @ $295.00 each.

i only will be driving it 14km per day and then the only other time i will be driving it onroad is to get to wherever i am goin wheelin will keep my 33s for the beach if they still have a bit of tread left (nangkang 33" mudstars which have done 35 000 km and70% worn)

got the 33" 117 sports on my paj and they seem to wear quite well for the tread pattern.
i thought the 35" only came in the centipede pattern?

Have the Sports in a 33 (285) on the Paj then the Prado and now the Pootrol. Have over 40thou on them - mostly offroad and they still have at least 50% tread plus left. Wear on the blacktop quick and IMHO i find them WAY to aggressive in the dry - they want to climb everything - in the wet they are fantastic. Not sure what the extremes would be like but the sports do me fine.

i found mine are great in the slop, as long as you have the power to turn them.
in the dry they gripped OK but not on all surfaces

Yeah, my comments were based on the Extremes.

Rudi runs the Sports and has had them for quite some time. These would definitely wear better and last longer on the road. The Sport would suit most people and the Extremes for those that are tackling the hardest tracks available.

I have 33x10.5 Extremes on my Zook. $290 each.
YES, they are very noisy.
YES, they take power to turn in slop.
YES, they climb anything. but... if you do get stuck and the wheels are still turning you are going down down down into a tyre shaped hole VERY quickly.
They are OK on the beach. I went to Noosa north shore (Double Island) today.
NO, they don't balance well. Mine all have more than 200gm.
NO, 33" isn't really 33". I'm pretty sure 35's are under too.
NO, they don't like road use and will wear quickly.. Especially with my spooled rear.
Speaking of spooled rear... with the extremes it is more stable on road and doesn't 'let go' around every corner like it did with BF's. I think because the lugs are flexing and staying in contact with the road.
I'd recommend them if you want MAXIMUM traction.
My next set will be Extremes but 35's.

Got 34" Swamper LTBs now and they are a much better all round tyre they grip like sh!t to a blanket on rock and hold their own on the mud as well...

I'm looking at the 35/10.5/16 extremes for my 80series which is my daily driver what sort of km's are people getting on these blacktop and abusive offroad use?

They are certainly cheap, but as mentioned undersized.
I do about 150km a week on road and like to play atleast once a month.

Someone said they are hard to balance up? My JTz currently have 300grams on outside on 80s rims which have had a hard life so..
How often is a rotation and possibly rebalance required?

If they are too last a good year I would still be happy.

I run simex tubes aswell.

i ran the silverstone mt117s 285x85x16 (35x10.5x16) on my cruiser and they are a great tyre in the bush, they come into thier own on loose rocks and very muddy clay conditions, dont be scared to let them down on the pressure, in the front was running 12psi and 10psi in the rear with out bead locks, very strong side walls, the only let down with them is the klms when you touch the black top i only had a maxium 20 to 25,000 klms out of them, and keep a close eye on tyre rotation, and they are very scary tyre to drive on in the wet due to the centre lug/strip in the tyre, im now running the maxxis creepys and has a lot better road manners, better on the rocks but no wear near as good in the mud,

I wouldn't agree with that at all. I don't think I spun a wheel all weekend at Dissa with them on.

But you will get different results with different vehicles with different tyre pressures and different peoples driving styles.

I have plenty of tyres here but none mounted on rims to measure properly...

i know the first shipment that landed in australia was not consistant
in size ie 1 would measure @ 34.1 and another @ 34.8 . this has been
rectified as far as i know i have sold and fitted quite a few of these .
i have also seen some tyres develop cracks close to the beads
on the sidewall and tubeless liners cracking inside the tyre .
they are an excellent traction tyre but i strongly recommend
against buying these for road use as they will wear very quickly .

a simex will cost more but also last 3 times longer so
if you intend on using these on the road i would invest
the extra cash and get et2,s as the extra milage will offset
the dearer purchase price .

you should be able to get the 35/10.5/15 silvertone mt117 extreme for around $285-$290 fitted , as far as i know the 35/11.5/15 mt117 are very
inconsistant in supply (only a handful in the country) at the moment which could be a problem if you stake a tyre or have a faulty tyre you may not be able to get a replacement .

are sidewall bubble or delamination common as 2 of my friends are suffering bubbles in the sidewalls on more than 90% tread ,one has blown out on the highway also.
