37X13.50R15LT claws vs 37x12.50-15LT creepy crawlers
looking at running one of these sets under a 4runner 2.8t 4.88's i have run the claws in 33's before and found them good on and offroad, will be on locked rims any ones oppinions would be great
would be on the beast most of the time for the time for getting to the trails and to work lol

37's & your runing a 2.8 dsl with 4.88 ratios,to be used as a daily driver & for off roading, I think you will be greatly disapointed in whatever brand you get.
Due to the amt of power drop...even 35's with that combination will disapoint.
IF YOU GO 37"s.
(1) first you will be disapointed with HWY power drops.
(2) you will fix HWY by changing diff ratios to 5.somthings (hiace stuf).
(3) next you will be disapointed with the drop in off road performence ie by basicly turning low range into a semi mid range.
(4) you will fix this by reduction gears.
(5) now you have low range back,& good traction you will start doing CV's.
(6) forgot the new suspension so they will fit on full travle, that should be up between 1&2.
(7) 5 can be nearly rectified by several of the stegnthend CV brands.
(8) by now you would want more power,so a V6 or V8 mod is the go.
(9) now with more power you will start going through diff centers..
anyway good luck with your brand of tyre choice, that will be your easiest & cheapest choice... OH & im up to about (14) on the list, that is installing GU running gear & 4.88s cheers pigy..but on a positive note itl look hot

Irun the 37 12.5 17 bf krawler and love them. Being a 17inch rim helps with the balancing of the tyre, and off road they dont give you that exsesive lean at low psi. Mates got 13.5s and on road has a few issus with tracking on the slightest groove in the road and death wobbles.
Having owned a lux for many years and running 36s in a lot of comps, you will be a little underpowered, maybe start looking for a turbo for on road.
In my opinion i would definately run the narrower of the 2.

Couldnt get em cheaper than 600new each at the time. Knew someone that was running them on a buggy and wanted 39stickys. Got em for 450each, custom rims cost me 720$ once i had the dish flipped.
You hear all this talk how they flog out quick, iv done 11000 kms including the comps ive done and road kms, bought them with 17mm of tread and took 1mm off in those kms so in my opinion they are real road freindly

cheers guys,
piglet i should have noted i have 30 spline longfields + the iners also chromo hub gears , rear chromo axles and twin cases with chromo output all ready to go in, currently run 35in bf at's for the weekly work run and have just stepped up from a 2.4t to a 2.8t (big jump i know, lol)
so after pushing them with the 2.4 up to the 2.8 feels like a huge improvement! sad iknow. i understand im not going to get the performance on road as u would in a pootrol, but i drive the car accordingly. and dont have to drive huge tar distances i just stated wanting to run the 37's to work on the days i feel like being a big rubber wanker lol, meaty tires look way better than at's
the only weak point in the driveline thats left i think is the open front center and shitty stock lsd also the ring and pinions are factory toys (not sure how strong they are yet)
also the suspension set up i just got can fit 38.5's fully maxed with mild trimming of gaurds
see pic

and cheers team bullet i was trying to stay with a 15in rim if i could help it mainly due to cost of the larger rims in beadlocks, i may have to go to a larger rim to fit the rear calipers in depending on the outcome of my disc rear set up.
oppinions on the performance of these tires or others recomended in the same size's is appreciated cheers all

come on move over and let the 75 through
I dont wheel in a patrol, although in the long term it would have been cheaper doing up a troll, than turning a feroza into one, just trying to say theres a lot of hidden extras you dont expect, until you have been there..
but as I see by your mod list your on your way.. if you are staying with leaf
springs have you thaught of MQ patrol running gear.. every wreker has 10
of em,,parts are cheap,& have 4.88 standard in some modles,, I changed to nissan running gear, due to breakages,Ididnt seem to break many diffs until i started running 37"s,,but then I did 3 in one comp season, even the stregnthend cvs n axels had some bad days.. have fun with your experiment
