titan winch solenoid wiring

Post by YankeeDave »

Ok i'm pretty dumb when it comes to wiring/electrical things :?

can anyone help me wire up my new titan solenoid to my high mount

supplied wiring diagram below

http://www.navrun.com.au/TitanWiringDiagram.pdf

which terminal is F2 or S2 or F1 or S1 on the motor?

My 6hp motor has one terminal that has an A stamped on it, is this the Armature terminal?

How do i wire in the warn hand controller? Which wires from this go where?

Power in? what from the battery
Power out? to where?

Any help is much appriciated

ok sorted out the f1 s1 thing

and the armature

my only problem now is the hand controller.

3 wires coming from that,

Green, white and black.

black must go to negative on the titan solenoid, but what about green and white. which one is power in and power out. do I also need to put + power to one or both of these.

connect the wires and you will see. If it is 'wrong' ie out is in and in is out, swap the terminals so in is in and out is out. or you could undo the switch from your hand controller and then you will see what colour is in for in and what colour is out for out :D

well i put the black wire to the neg terminal on the titan then the white to one and the green to the other.

Operated the hand controller and nothing happened. If i apply 12V directly to that power in or power out terminal on the Titan the winch operates. Only problem is, it does this with out the hand controller.

ok so i've attached a picture of my set up.

I'm confident i have everything correct between the motor and solenoid,

just not the controller and solenoid

in the pic you can see 3 wires coming from the hand controller,

I put one to the power in, one to power out and the black one to ground.

this dosnt work however. I feel like there should be power coming in from somewhere.

any ideas

Just checked mine out. Remove the black wire and run it to 12volts ,leave the green wire you added where it is and youll be in business.
