Did the patrol on its roof land next to the red patrol or was the red one parked there after it had rolled?. Looks bloody close to it.

The red one stopped the other one from keeping on rolling. Had some momentum, heading towards the creek...

It would be great to see all the team names added. As a spectator we have no idea what team number is who. But we generally know the names of the teams.

We do not post up everyones names/team names (unless requested) because there may be teams that dont want there overall positions know because of sponsors or other reasons.

sponsors may not like to see their names at the bottom.
competitors may find it easier to get sponsorship without their name in last place.
someone may not want Mum to know they borrowed her car :D

this way there is the option of having your name shown and going by the requests there is not too many who want it.

If your only going by the replies here then i would say that the majority actually want them listed. Actually i would say that every one of them want their names listed seing as not a single competitor has said they dont want them listed.

I used the same process for Rounds 2 and 3 last year and noone mentioned that they had a problem with this system. If anyone who actually competed this round who wish to have their name mentioned then by all means PM me and I will add you.

I assume that a large majority of people who competed are members of this site and therefor check this site for their overall positions. Taking into account that only one team so far has requested that their details be listed, I can only assume that the majority of people who competed are happy not to be named.

This is possibly because they know who they are and who there competitors are. Spectators have no idea on this. Im a spectator thats why i asked. As a spectator we have absolutly no idea on who is who on that list. We also have no idea on what sponsors are supporting these competitors or this event. Sponsors dont just sponsor the winning team. And they sponsor teams for the exposure. Rarely because they win. Without listing these teams and Sponsors you are taking away exposure for both the team and the sponsors.

But if infact the teams and sponsors have specificaly asked to be left out of any exposure then by all means leave them out and i will shut up. I just dont understand the reasoning for this.

My beleif is that adding these names and sponsors will only help teams and the event to get more sponsors and teams. If other potential sponsors can see how many are supporting this event they may be more willing to join in.

Dont get me wrong im not trying to cause you guys grief. I actually thought it was a great event and it was run very well.

When we had our own web site, we used to publish all the placings so that we all knew who we beat and who we didn't - all part of the fun.

But after one round we were repremanded by some of the competitors who had not placed well. They did not want their poor placings advertised on a public forum - and that is their right. Most of us don't care whether our names are up there or not - but we have to respect those that do care.

So to all the competitors reading outer limits - if you pm 'jaycee83' with your details then Jody will update the post to suit. Those that don't will not have their details published.

I will raise it at the next committee meeting as to whether we include a box on the entry form to give or deny consent to publish the results after the round. This should enable us to post most of the results soon after the round.

its easy to add names afterwards but its too late to remove them afterwards so the default is to not name them and stay on the safe side.
