Drivers door wont unlock from inside or out or with the remote? Anyone got any idea how I can get it open and what may be broken. Thanks

or you could take the inner door cover off and try and unlock the door from there, might wanna take the seat out and that make it easyer to move around in the car

Thanks Duck, wrestled the trim off and the lock pat was stuck half way between locked/unlocked. Found a small broken spring in the bottom of the door that must be what drags it one way or the other. Anyone know what a new locking mechanism is worth off hand? Are there any non genuine ones as I have a suspicion genuine could be heart attack material

Buy a generic central kit, there cheap but you get what you pay for, just replace the broken motor, better off buying a genuine one from the wreckers.


I had to replace one in my celica a few years ago, quoted 300 for genuine. So it would be roughly around that price.
