how big is the efi vit tanks?

I would also like detailed instructions on what to modify to install the vitara tank as i bought a wreck with the 1.6efi motor and will need to fit the fuel tank for efi pressure. Thanks in advance

Move the exhaust to infront of the rear tyre or if u have wheel spacers outside the chassie cut all the mounts for the SJ tank off and weld new ones on. If you dont want clearance problems body lift it or cut the floor, the tank is wider and deeper.

will moving the exhust to infront of the rear tyre be legal in a SWB or will it be to close to the front doors? The rules say

"The exhaust outlet must extend at least 40mm beyond
the furthermost outboard or rearmost joint of the floor
pan that is not continuously welded or permanently
sealed which could permit direct access of exhaust
gases to the passenger compartment, but not beyond
the perimeter of the vehicle when viewed in plan."

I think its meant to be 400mm not 40mm.

lol i copied that straight out of the modification pdf file. maybe they had a typo lol.

So is it not possible to get the exhust around the viatra fuel tank in a w/t sierra with standard wheels(31's with no spacers)? even with a body lift?

I have a Vit tank in my W/T and yes you can get the exhaust through to the back. you have to push the tank as far to the drivers side as it will go. Involves a fair bit of stuffing around tho

sorry to hijack,
But when i am asking for a vitara efi tank, what year model has everyone used mostly?

Is it the 70L tank? Getting sick of refuelling every 300ks with the 40L sierra 1...
