Troopy advice!

Post by Remydog05 »

Ive found a 97 Troopy that has Air Lockers, 33's, Turbo, Bullbar and draws in it for $15000.

Turbo will need a rebuild and Body may have some rust??

I have not had a chance to see it yet but its been with this bloke since he bought it with 37k's on it. Now has 220plus he said.

Been sitting in his shed for a while as he no longer uses it for w work truck & Camping. (Hes a Builder)

He put the turbo etc all on it.

The question it how much for a turbo rebuild?? and from what I know of 1HZ this should do another 100,000 k's easy without too much attention?

Do Troopy's really do gearboxes and Diffs etc??

I think hes just keen to see it go as he has a Prado and a 100 now.

Whats all you crew who no 75's think??

Seen no one has said anything.

I don't know much as I've only just bought one.

Mine's an 88 model. Got it for 6300. It does have some rust I need to fix and she's quite rough around the edges. Got 386000 on the clock engine seems strong. No real noises in the gearbox and diffs except it does crunch into second gear sometimes but I think thats when I don't press the clutch down ALL the way to the floor.

Does blow a bit of smoke but that seems to clear up when it's warm, also the gearbox thing seems to go away when it's warm...

I have no idea about the turbo's and all that though but it sounds like a decent price to me... Even if it does need a little work.
