V6 and auto into a sierra....

Post by Gutless »

Just wondering if anyone here knows anyone who has done this conversion? I am starting next week, and am curious as too how much of the transmission tunnel was widened to fit the commy auto box? Just wondering if there is an easier way.....

Also, my current wheelbase is 100 inches. I wish to fit 38's (currently have 33's) and was thinking of moving the front diff forward another 8 inches or so at the same time as I do a coilover front setup. (similar to rear setup)

If on 38's, would a new wheelbase of 108 be too much for a zook? The leading edge of the tyres will be 10" forward of the front of the zook. Will there be any issues that will reaquire addressing because of this?

I will be doing a new steering setup too, but won't worry about this until the rest is done.

Droopy Pete has been slowly working towards the V6 Vitara and Auto installation for some time now... perhaps he'll pipe up with some info - otherwise i'm sure he'd be keen to see what you do.

cheers
