What engine, what to look for?

Post by w13c »

So i just got my new hilux, its a 1990 model sr5 dual cab

but apprentley the engine was change last year some time
The mod plate says 3L something
Im confused as he said it was from a surf, so im thinking its a 2.4t
so i was just wondering if anyone knows what it is , or where the engine number is printed on the engine as i cant see it.

and what should i be looking out for with these engines
(timing belt water pump milkshake?? etc.?)

yeah, thats a 2LT..

Why the hell would anyone swap a 3L for a 2LT? Normally you just bolt the 2LT turbo bits to the 3L!
