hey all finaly got my new rover nearly ready to got for a swim i need to finishe running breather but everything is easy ther my main problems are

1. snorkel how the hell do i fit one
its a 88 hiline with 3.5 i have a dual battery kit so i had move the vacume and power steer resovour
but when i put the filter back into position it doesnt fit, i cut the intake side of the filter an fitted a gutter pop in so its a wider intake an can attach a snorle easyer
has anyon got the same sort of set up ??

2, what do u do with the computer its under the seat an will be the first thing that get wet?

You can /could get a fibreglass fitting from Graeme Cooper and LRA which goes on the side of the filter. It connects directly to the snorkel hose.

Ya dissy is the thing that will bring you unstuck. Pull the thing out and clean it up. Seal it with silicon anywhere water will get in,that means the cap as well. get the best plug leads you can.When driving in wet muddy stuff, mud gets on the leads ,so check them from time to time.Even take a rag to them to clean them if you have to. When you come across real deep stuff have clean leads and give them a spray with inox. Keep it clean and dry and it will run with water up to your screen..

hah yeah the dissy is allready done i am running comressed air into it about 3-4psi with new cap an plugs n sealant as well as well

yeah i ahev seen that plastic thing i wanna try stay away from that atm if possible worse case ill have to buy a new filter housing as mines allready modifyed

watch out for problems when feeding in compressed air. Did the same off the main tank and bingo, switched on the air one day prior to swimming via the solenid valve and the car stopped dead. Water in the line emptied straight into the dissy!! So will need to fit a water trap in that line before the dissy (there's one off the compressor, but not on the return lines from the tank)...

ouch yeah im just running it from one of the arb locker activation only kits atm so no tank installed its not teh best asthe compressoris small an not ment for long running times but its ok for small runs

has anyone moved the maf? or removed it alltogeather? as i need to move it back to bit the filer asembly

what i did was go to truckline and buy some 3 inch ruuber bend they have in stock grabed a pice of three in exhaut pipe and welde a cople o tabbs to hold it inplace coted insied with black enamal so it doent rust .then welded the mouning brackets to fit it too the n body then cover the ends of the rubber bends with cylicone and add a hose clamp on any join
