pmsl. Thats funny.

It's a fairly vague question though mate.

I reckon if you list what vehicle it is, what you intend to use it for and what you consider important (ie flex, load carrying, comfort etc) you might get a non 'tool squeeser' or two who can throw a few suggestions up.

well was that so hard .. and yes i like to squeeze tools (like you  )

answer to your question depends though ... on many factors ..

ie gu ute is it going to carry a load for starters?

If flex is your number one priority it's unlikely that you'll be happy with an off-the-shelf product. You may be best off having custom main leaves made (longer than stock and with more arch), maybe have a few of the stock leaves lower in the pack reset for more arch, and run extended shackles. Will take a bit of messing around getting the leaf combination correct - but i don't think the leaves will cost a lot more than a commercially available set - just add the cost of ext. shackles.

I'm unsure of anyone in your area who does a good job - but i understand carrols ?? springs on sydney road in vic are good.

Could almost be worth your while looking at a coil/airbag conversion. Try and keep your std fully floating axle.

I've got a custom set of Dobinson Leaf springs in my FJ40....am really happy with them! They flex well, and ride decent enough.

I reckon retain your nice strong leaf diff, and just convert to rear coils from another GU...shouldn't cost you too much more buying the bits from a wrecker than a set of new, good quality leaf springs.

you could get a few packs from the wreckers and make your own custom pack.. requires a bit of fiddling around to get it right tho.
