Post by tbjaus2000 »

Can someone [please tell me if there is an INCORRECT Way of installing these.

IE i heard a rumour about the breaking system etc etc.

Does it matter which side the engage/disengage level and power connections are or not etc.????????

Cable should spool from the bottom of the drum, if not you may have to cut a new drain hole for the motor. Make sure the cables are on the correct terminals. Otherwise too easy.

Whats the bar its going into?

If its the Nissan bar, it goes in upside down & needs a new drain hole on the motor housing.

the cable MUST spool in the direction that is indicated by the sticker on the side of the drum housing and must pull in a straight line off the drum and thru the roller fairlead, so if u look thru the rollers when the winch is installed the cable should go straight to the drum.
AND i install winches and bullbars for a living and ive NEVER had to install one upside down as previously mentioned.

...Then you have NEVER put one in a genuine Nissan GU bar?

They go in upside down (gearbox on drivers side) and to prevent the motor filling with water, you cut a new drain slot in the motor side end housing.
